Bollywood superstar, Amitabh Bachchan took his co-star (later wife) Jaya Bhaduri for their first date to Café Samovar near the Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai, an otherwise obscure hang-out spot in the 70's and 80's for creative people and filmy folk. Recently, the café owner Usha Khanna launched a book 'The Making of Samovar' in which she documented various experiences and invited this star couple over for its book launch. The usually media-shy Jaya Bachchan spilled the beans on how special the venue was: ''I'm letting out a secret. The first date that my husband took me out for is here (Cafe Samovar). That's all he could afford.'' A visibly emotional Amitabh also echoed the sentiment.
